The Challenge
Tiburon Coast's commanding Golden Gate Bridge views demanded a door system that would frame the iconic vista without visual competition. The main living area required automation for a 32-foot wide by 10-foot tall Sosoares OS four-panel system totaling 1,920 pounds (640 pounds per panel). The architectural design called for seamless indoor-outdoor transitions while maintaining the minimalist aesthetic that allows spectacular scenery to remain the focal point. Space constraints dictated exterior motor placement, requiring weather-protected mounting in the soffit above the door.
The Solution
Working alongside Lucent, who specified the Sosoares OS sliding system, we engineered an Everest motor with horizontal configuration mounted externally in the soffit above the door. The system integrates with Savant home automation for sophisticated control throughout the residence. The horizontal configuration delivers powerful, reliable operation while keeping all mechanical components concealed above the door opening. The result: effortless 32-foot opening with clean, minimalist profiles that disappear into the architecture, allowing the Golden Gate Bridge views to take center stage.
