CORNER SYSTEM
The Challenge
Park City presented a complex remediation scenario: a LaCantina wood clad corner door system (12-foot four-panel and 20-foot six-panel sides totaling 2,400 pounds) where doors were installed incorrectly and pocket walls were already built before automation was specified. The corner configuration required precise sequencing—primary and secondary active panels must open and close in specific order to prevent binding. With finished drywall in place, conventional motor installation would require extensive demolition and reconstruction.
The Solution
Working closely with the contractor to first remedy the door installation issues, our team engineered an Apex dual Peak motor system in a vertical configuration with creative wiring solutions requiring minimal drywall cutting. The Apex setup links both motors via communication cable, ensuring synchronized operation with proper panel sequencing every time—critical for corner applications where panels must move in precise order. Integration with 12-in-1 touchscreen control provides unified operation of both sides from a single switch. The result: a complex corner system rescued from installation errors and transformed into a flawlessly operating automated solution with minimal disruption to finished spaces.
