MARTIS CAMP

CALIFORNIA

  • PEAK MOTOR

  • 5 PANELS

  • 1,400 LBS

  • MULTI-SLIDE

The Challenge

Martis Camp required automation for a 22-foot wide by 10-foot tall Marvin Modern five-panel multi-slide system, but the installation presented significant spatial constraints. With no room above or to the side of the door opening, traditional motor mounting was impossible. The 1,400 pounds of moving glass (five panels at 350 pounds each) needed reliable automation within an extremely limited footprint—specifically, a narrow wood column separating the multi-slide from an adjacent hinged door.

The Solution

Together with with Lucent, who specified the Marvin Modern door system, and partnering with XL Glass for specialized lifting and installation, we engineered a Peak motor solution with a side mount configuration mounted sideways within the wood column. This unconventional mounting approach provides full automation capability despite extreme space limitations. The system integrates with Lutron home automation and wall switch control for seamless operation. The result: five panels operating flawlessly with all mechanical components concealed within the architectural column—proving that even the most constrained spaces can accommodate sophisticated automation.
