The Challenge
Lake Washington required automation for two Marvin Modern pocketing systems—a three-panel 18-foot door (1,290 pounds) and a two-panel 12-foot door (860 pounds)—each operating independently. The panels, at 430 pounds each, needed to pocket completely to maximize the waterfront views. The installation required reliable automation that maintains the clean, contemporary aesthetic of the Marvin Modern profiles while providing effortless operation for both door systems.
The Solution
With Lucent coordinating the Marvin Modern door systems, we engineered dual Peak motors in a vertical configuration, installing each motor behind its respective pocket. This placement keeps all mechanical components completely concealed while providing direct drive power for smooth, reliable operation. The systems integrate with 12-in-1 touchscreen controls for comprehensive automation management. The result: two independently operating pocketing doors that disappear seamlessly when open, creating uninterrupted transitions to the outdoor spaces and framing spectacular Lake Washington views with minimal visual interference.
