LAKE TAHOE

CALIFORNIA

  • EVEREST MOTOR

  • 6 PANELS

  • 3,200 LBS

  • BI-PART POCKET

The Challenge

Lake Tahoe's spectacular setting demanded a seamless 40-foot glass wall that maximizes views without visual interruption. The Sosoares OS six-panel bi-parting configuration—three panels pocketing on each side—totals 3,200 pounds (530 pounds per panel, 1,600 pounds per side). Beyond the substantial weight, the system required independent operation of each side while maintaining synchronized performance. With multiple heavy panels on each side, single-motor operation would compromise reliability and panel control.

The Solution

Lucent specified the Sosoares OS sliding system with matching ST fixed windows above, creating an uninterrupted glass wall spanning floor to ceiling. We engineered dual Everest motors with horizontal configuration, mounting each motor above the center meeting point where the sides converge. This dual-motor approach allows each three-panel side to operate independently with dedicated power, ensuring reliable performance and precise control. The entire sill system is concealed below finished floor level with only minimal track visible. Integration with Lutron home automation provides seamless operation. The result: a 40-foot opening that transforms the interior into an outdoor pavilion, with matching profiles creating the illusion of a single continuous glass wall framing Lake Tahoe's extraordinary views.
